There are several sources of fund for raising funds from primary market viz., public issue, rights issue, private equity placement and offer for sale. IPO’s is a part of public issue and it is widely used tool by corporate companies for raising capital. Indian being a developing nation and flourishing corporate companies is focussing on IPO. The motivation for this research study is to understand the case of under-pricing in IPO’s and its impact on the performance of stock on listing day. There have been various reasons, theories, which have been formulated by various researchers. In this research paper, we found that the under-pricing of exist in India because of lack of information for investors.
