Social media is in every one reach due to the expansion of smart phones. There are many type of social media platform such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube gains much popularity among peoples. This expansion provides the power of expression to the people. Now people communicate about the services, products, stocks, news, politics etc., on the social media. These reviews about the products and services provide valuable information to the organizations and government agencies. opinion mining or Sentiment analysis techniques are used to gain the insight from these reviews. This study covers all the dimensions of the techniques, and application of the sentiment analysis. Additionally, it explores the key challenges in opinion mining, offering insights into potential future research directions.
