ABSTRACT A series of chlorosubstituted 4-aroyl-∆2-pyrazoline and 4-alkoyl-∆2-pyrazoline have been synthesized by refluxing 3-aroylchlorosubstitutedchromanones and 3-alkoylchlorosubstitutedchromanones respectively with PhNHNH2.HCL in dioxane solvent containing a few drops of piperidine. The structure of newly synthesized chlorosubstitutedpyrazolines have been confirmed on the basis of elemental analysis, molecular weight determination, UV-Visible, IR and 1H-NMR spectral data. The titled compounds were evaluated for their growth promoting activity of some aromatic grasses.
