An optical amplifier which is used for doped optical amplifier in a gain medium that amplifies an optical signal called EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier). It isgenerally used for amplification concurrently more number of data channels at various wavelengths in the region of gain. Thepump power and amplified signal is manipulated into doped fiber & the signal gets amplified sincethe interface with doping ions. In the present research paper different pumping methods in EDFA are studied and analyzed. The analysis part is made for the high pump power which is 200mW to 600mW. The length 16.2m is used for the Standard Erbium Doped Fiber. The maximum range of input signal power is set at -34dBm at 1550nm. The range of 15 to 25dBm is measured as output power, though the noise figure diverse between 4.37 and 7.24 dBm. Based on the various pumping schemes, it is clearlyidentified that bi-directional pumping method shows best results.
