Abstract: The present research has been carried out to monitor the water quality of a rural religious pond situated in village Bhodia Khera in district Fatehabad, Haryana, India by assessment of various physico-chemical parameters (water temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), biological oxygen demand (BOD), conductivity, alkalinity, total hardness and total dissolved solids (TDS). Water Quality Index (WQI) was calculated from the obtained values of various factors while comparing to standard values of these factors given by BIS and WHO. On the basis of WQI of water body, it was concluded that water was unsuitable for drinking purposes.
