The Statement which shows the financial position of a concern as on a particular date is a Balance Sheet. The analysis of the Balance Sheet is an effective measure and indicator to check the soundness of financial activities of a particular business concern. The present study is an attempt to find out how the Balance Sheet can be analysed for the growth of a concern and whether capital budgeting and working capital management can be effectively adopted. An empirical analysis of the private companies reveal how the fundamental analysis can help in improving the health of the concern. The three main fundamental components- the assets, liabilities and capital constitute the important indicators for analyzing the Balance Sheet for depicting the profitability, growth and soundness of business concern.
