DIRECT IDENTIFICATION CONTROL OF CASCADED MULTILEVEL INVERTER IN STATCOM

Abstract

Over the past decades, the strain of electrical power is heavily increasing and therefore the overall security and dependability of the electrical transmission network has become a world concern. No real-life power supply is good and usually will deviate in a minimum of the subsequent ways: voltage, frequency and waveform. Advancing the power quality truth controller area unit used. A versatile electrical strength transmission (FACTS) should be a machine composed of static instrumentation used for the AC transmission of cutting-edge. It’s meant to reinforce controllability and increase power transfer capability of the network. It’s typically an influence electronics-based system. In this paper discuss about classification of facts controller, objective of facts, production and absorption of reactive power, need of reactive power compensation, compensation techniques working principal of STATCOM, working of STATCOM etc are discussed . The mannequin of a CMLI STATCOM received with the aid of device identification method represents its inner dynamics. Based on the identified switch function, parameters of two PI controllers one for load voltage legislation and different for dc capacitor voltage regulation reason the use of Ziegler-Nichols approach have been designed.
