The significance of groundwater for the existence of human society can’t be overemphasized. Groundwater is the primary source of drinking water in both urban and rural areas of India. Besides, it is an vital source of water for the agricultural and the industrial sector. Being an essential and integral part of the hydrological cycle, its availability depends on the rainfall and recharge patterns. Till recently it had been considered as a reliable source of uncontaminated water. The continuously increasing demand for water has led to water scarcity. The condition is aggravated by the problem of water pollution and contamination. In this paper we will analyze various techniques which have been used for water level prediction
