Title

Pineapple waste and Cassava extract water as substrates for biosurfactant production using Pseudomonas aeruginosa PBSC1

Abstract

The agro-industrial waste materials such as Pineapple waste and Cassava extract water as substrate thereby managing the disposal of these waste into the promising value added product. The better yield response for optimizing the biosurfactant production condition was achieved through the statistical method of optimization. The formulation and utilization of the Pineapple waste medium has attained the maximal yield of was identified as 9.63 g/l with the Emulsification index (E24 %) of 71.2% respectively with the optimal conditions of fermentation on Pineapple waste medium as 24.01% (v/v) Substrate concentration with pH 7.5 at 37.4̊ C temperature for 112.8 hrs. While 0.81 folds increase in the biosurfactant production (8.5 g/l) in the Cassava extract water medium was obtained at 20.8% CEW concentration, 1.08% sodium nitrate, with pH 7.1 and the temperature at 36.5̊ C respectively.
