The smart grid assimilates conventional grid and communication network to form an intelligent power system network with all the components interconnected with each other through internet and delivering sustainable power supply. Owing to the communication feature, smart grid infrastructure is more flexible and allows bidirectional flow of information and energy between consumers and energy utilities. Consequently, last meter smart grid has become a promising solution for all the problems of conventional power grid, increasing efficiency, effectiveness, reliability, and encountering increase in power demand. Recently, various communication network and information technologies have been recognized. This paper aims to offer a comprehensive study on Last meter smart grid architecture and function of various communication in smart grid.
