Title

A COMPARATIVE AIR QUALITY ANALYSIS USING BIG DATA TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract

Finding the right value or extracting the information from a large collection of datasets has become very important to perform various analysis in different sectors. The demand for such analysis has been growing in tremendous speed due to the growth of semi-structured and un-structured data. Such computationally intensive analysis can be done with the help of big data technologies. In this paper, I have used Hadoop Ecosystem tools - Apache Pig and Apache Hive that sits on top of Hadoop to perform various analysis along with performance comparison using execution time on Air Quality dataset. Air pollution analysis is very important for developing effective risk management policies and strategies for the public. An insight on various components of air pollution mixture like particles and gaseous pollutants will help the public to focus on health protection policies also.
