Authors

Abstract

Teaching is not only a process giving information, knowledge and skill to the student whatever he needs to know based on the syllabus of particular class. It is more than that. It is giving exposure to all kinds of experiences. It includes both academic and non-academic aspects. Teachers are the one spends lot of time with children. Compared to parents most of the children listened to the teachers and obey the words of them. By believing that teachers would teach and take care of their children well, parents are sending students to schools. It is important for a teacher to make a child as a useful member of the society. Teachers are the builders of the nation so they need to perform their role effectively. Students should be inspired by teachers the way they take lesson, the way they speaks, the way they behave with others etc., teacher should act as a role model to the students. The role of teacher and their teaching make impact on the students. By knowing all these things, the teacher has to perform their duty successfully. To perform efficient teacher has to reflect their teaching aspect. We can also call it as self evaluation. The teacher has to evaluate their performance, where they are good at and where they need to concentrate. They have to monitor themselves. It is important for the teachers to become aware of their own work and how it has done by them. Teachers can enhance their teaching skills through reflective teaching. It is directly proportional to the quality of learning. It is not the summary of what has happened in the classroom. It is a systematic approach to looking within what I have done in the classroom teaching. It requires a good recall of entire classroom experience. It is the combination of both self- observation and self-evaluation. It is all about awareness of how teaching has taken place and analysis of how it can be made more effective. In this paper, we are going to discuss about reflective teaching and its techniques.
