Title

Modeling and Simulation of Twin Engine Fighter Aircraft Fuel Supply System to Optimize Sequencing during Flight

Abstract

Function of aircraft fuel system is to store, supply and regulate clean fuel to engine at all flight altitude and flight conditions. Fighter aircraft fuel system is more complex compared to commercial aircraft fuel system due to number of tanks, there position and capacity of aircraft. This Paper focuses to model and simulate fuel supply system for twin engine aircraft to determine the integrated behavior of venting, pressurization and Supply system. Different combinations of sequence of fuel consumption are simulated to determine optimal variation of C.G. Modeling of system is done in LMS AMESim. The LMS Amesim® is a multi-physics model and simulation software where different domains can be integrated and analyzed simultaneously. The LMS Amesim® was chosen for this analysis because of the already modeled components and the capability of integrating different domains in the same model. Sequencing of fuel is done by use of Statechart environment available in AMESim software.
