Time series is a set of observations of data measured over a specific interval of time. These are difficult to monitor, summarize and predict. Time series segmentation is a process organizing time series into groups that are having similar characteristics. These segments can be used for analyzing time sequence, dimensionality reduction, removing outliers and for similarity search. Analyzing multiple time series is a difficult task. By segmenting this one can easily analyze. In this paper we have taken a survey on TS segmentation based on the following categories- i) Horizontal Segmentation ii) Vertical Segmentation.
