Title

ULTRASONIC STUDY OF L-GLUTAMINE IN AQUEOUS ZINC CHLORIDE SOLUTIONS AT 313.15K

Abstract

The values of density (ρ), ultrasonic velocity (U) and viscosity (η) for L-Glutamine in aqueous solutions of Zncl2 have been measured at 313.15 K in order to study the ion-solvent interactions. By using standard relations from measured values of density (ρ), ultrasonic velocity (U) and viscosity (η), the desired acoustical and thermodynamic parameters such as adiabatic compressibility (β), intermolecular free length (Lf), acoustic impedance (Z), Relaxation time(RA), apparent molar volume(φv) and apparent molar compressibility(φk) have been calculated. The changes in these parameters with the change in concentration have been explained on the basis of solute-solvent interactions and structure modifying tendency of solute in the solvent. It is observed that ion-solvent interactions increase with the increase in the concentration of amino acid in aqueous solutions of Zncl2.
