Abstract: The objective of the study is to evaluate acute toxicity and hepatoprotective activity of methanol extract of the leaves of Trevesia palmata (Araliaceae). Standardization of therapeutic potentials of medicinal plants has been increased in research world. The plant is used for treatment of cirrhosis, fabric convulsion, hepatocellular convulsion, hepatocellular jaundice, hydrocele, loose motion, paralysis and rheumatism (Uddin et al., 2006). In this study, histological examinations were obtained from the liver of a healthy Wistar albino rats. Informations obtained showed that the sample has a potent hepatoprotective agent and has the ability to maintain normal functions of liver.
