Abstract : The Cisscus quadrangularis, which is traditional Indian medicine, has been used for treatment of various diseases. A simple, sensitive , precise, and accurate RP-HPLC method was developed for the analysis of Cisscus quadrangularis samples.The extraction was carried out with different solvents. It was found that chloroform extraction is a good solvent for obtaining the highest content of Ursolic acid. This method involves the RP C18 column acetonitrile (85:15v/v) water with pH of 2.5 adjusted with the ortho phosphoric buffer and mobile phase and UV detection of 284nm.The flow rate was at 1.4mL/min. The retention time is 1.45 min. The Linearity range was about 2-10 µg/ mL .The method was validated for linearity range, accuracy, precision, LOD,LOQ, robustness, system suitability. The mean recovery was about 99.3-100.3%. The results enhances that explains that Ursolic acid was developed from different solvent extractions and ensures its biological effects.
