Title

Harmonic Minimization Using Newton Raphson Method

Abstract

In this paper, a Newton Raphson iterative technique is applied on cascaded multilevel inverter in order to determine the switching angles that eliminates specified higher order harmonics while maintains the required fundamental output voltage. This technique can be applied to any number of levels of multilevel inverters. A nine-level inverter is considered in this paper and the optimized switching angles are calculated in order to eliminate the lower order harmonics using SHE equations.
