The paper illuminates the politics body, desire and redemption in J.M. Coetzee’s Disgrace. The researcher has tried to point out how through the life of the protagonist of the novel, David Lurie, Coetzee shows strong and intricate elements of power and desire which govern the life of events of an old professor. As a part of this, the paper also reveals the conflict between the black and the white and proves superiority and power of the back over the white. A fifty two years old professor, David Lurie, is indulged in sexual relationship with many women which shows the surrender of man to bodily desires. Towards the end of his journey, David finally attains redemption with animals when he exercises power of mercy.
