Title

Binary mixtures of Piperidin-4-one derivatives and polymeric carbohydrate for the corrosion inhibition of mild steel in hydrochloric acid

Abstract

Abstract. The adsorption and corrosion inhibition characteristics of starch, a polymeric carbohydrate and its combination with piperidin-4-one derivatives (r-2, c-6-Diphenyl-N-methylpiperidin-4-one, r-2) on mild steel 1 mol L-1 HCl using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy methods. The inhibition performance shown by all the binary inhibitors (DMP1S & DMP2S) on mild steel in 1 mol L-1 HCl is higher than that of the individual performance of starch and piperidn-4-one derivatives (DMP1 & DMP2).
