In the development of any nation, construction projects play a vital role. One of the critical success factors in the construction industry is quality. It is one of the important features in all the construction projects. Quality performance is the success parameter in construction industry. Indian construction firms are forced to improve the quality of their products and implement effective quality management systems to survive in the competition. This research mainly focuses on factors or parameters that affect the quality and in the analysis of these factors. The aims also is to study the underperformance of quality in construction and to suggest some possible remedial measures. The factors mainly identified from literature are; Material, Finances, Design codes, Equipment, Workforce, Environment, Risk, Time, Inspection etc. Based on these identified factors questionnaires are developed. At the selected sites the survey on these questionnaires is done. The data is analysed using Relative Importance Index and it is ranked to get the top most values. The result is based on the survey including the respondents to extract the critical factors in quality.
