Abstract
The paper focuses on the relationship between gender disparities and its economic impact on the growth and development of an economy. The paper primarily focuses on the areas of gender equality, sex ratios, female employment growth and analyzes whether it bears a positive correlation with the social development and economic growth indicators of the states of India with special focus on the South Indian states.
