Abstract

The human being who poses the quality of knowledge with application, creativity,confidence and a subsistence level of productivity which he develop by creating employment opportunity is called human resource. Keeping aside the nature of work and organisation, development of skill make a human to be a resource. On the other hand the concept of rural devleopment is associated with poor countries of the world where most of the economies are predominated by rural economy and the people are engaged in primary sector i.e. agriculture, farming, fishing, forestry etc. These two concepts are closely co-related as two side of a same coin because without developing one the other concept remain stagnant. Therefore, India as a rural dominated economy human resource development is a crucial prerequisite for overall development of the nation. The research investigates the role of women in human resource develolpment by examining the educational status of women between age group 35-50 because it has been observed that this age group mother constituing the youth generation of children. It also investigates the awarness, popularity and achievements of different rural and human resource development schemes & programmes launched by central and state government. The research also investigates the prospects of young generation towards human resource. However, the investigation do not go to generilse the findings for the nation as a whole because very limited data are collected from Dhemaji subdivision of Dhemaji district. The investigation only try to examine, analyse and evaluate the status of the village in rural Dhemaji district towards human resource and rural development.
