Indian economy is an agrarian economy and agriculture sector has provided enormous number of employment opportunities directly and indirectly and most of the Indian population is depending on agriculture for their livelihood. But day to day the GDP from the agriculture has been decreasing and the interest of the farmers in conducting agriculture activities also has been decreased. Many reasons are responsible for these changes, but mainly drastic increase in the production and marketing cost. Due to increase in marketing cost the farmers are not getting proper returns for their hard labour. Through this paper an effort has been made to analyse the marketing efficiency of Paddy (Sona) in Tumakuru District.
