Title

SORPTION STUDIES ON THE REMOVAL OF Cr (VI) ION ON HALLOYSITE CLAY BY KINETIC METHODS

Abstract

Abstract In the study the adsorption potential of halloysite for removal of hexavalent chromium ion from wastewater has been investigated. The study involves to effect of initial concentration of hexavalent chromium ion, different time, shaking speed, different temperature, adsorbent dose, different pH of solution. The adsorption process has fit Lagergren’s pseudo-first-order and pseudo-second-order kinetic equation, Langmuir adsorption isotherm and Thermal effect of the adsorption by help of thermodynamic parameters e.g. ΔH*, ΔS*, and ΔG* of the going adsorption process have also been calculated and found the sorption process as endothermic, final conclusion i can see that halloysite was found to be more effective clay for removal of hexavalent chromium ion from wastewater.
