Active power filter is primary solution against non linear loads, current harmonics and power quality problems. VSI of the active power filter is replaced by cascaded multilevel Inverter. Cascaded Multilevel Inverter needs less number of components and also eliminates the need of transformer therefore reduces the cost and weight of the system. With increases in number of levels in the Inverter THD value is reduce to IEEE 519 standard.The proposed topology increases the harmonics compensation capability and reactive power compensation. Simulation work of the proposed topology will be carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
