Merleau-Ponty was dissatisfied with the kind of philosophy that he had pursued in his The Phenomenology of Perception. As a result of this in His The Visible and The Invisible he tried to reinterpret his concepts of lived body, dualism and phenomenology altogether. The concept of flesh thus is the new term that he introduced. By the concept of flesh he tried to reconcile between subjectivity and the world and thereby solving the problem related to them. This paper reflects how Merleau-Ponty in an innovative way has tried to give a new interpretation to the understanding of self and world and phenomenology as a whole.
