The nanocomposite films play a great role in the development of materials science. In this regards, a nanocomposite films of ethylene vinyl acetate/montmorillonite has been prepared and analyzed their functional, mechanical and dielectric properties. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopic analysis confirms the presence of related functional groups in the EVA and EVA/MMT composite films. The incorporation of nanoclay into ethylene vinyl acetate promotes the mechanical properties of the nanocomposite films owing to increase in contact surface area and interactions between nanoparticles and polymer. Moreover, the brittleness of the film increases with increase in clay content. The relative permittivity for both EVA and EVA-MMT composite films decrease with respect to increase in frequency based on dielectric studies.
