Abstract

Critical Reflection on Conceptualizing the Professional and Humane Teachers in India Dr. Seema Agnihotri, Assistant Professor-III Amity Institute of Education, Amity University Uttar Pradesh Education in all its form has been universally accepted now as the mandatory process for everybody to follow without any resistance. In its evolution, the highly vibrant phase one can see during the eve of transforming the phase of informal education into the formal ones where first time eligibility and labeling of the giver and taker of knowledge were decided as teachers and students. In the subsequent developments, professionalism got added to streamline the system. . With this background the paper is expecting to highlight the problems through evidences for conceptualizing the humane and professional teachers in the Indian context. The methodology of the paper is qualitative where on the basis of the reviewed material the interpretation and analysis has been done. The objective of this paper is to reflect on conceptualizing the term ‘professional’ and ‘humane ‘ teachers in India. The paper gets concluded by giving framework for preparing the Indian teachers on the professional and humane side.
