Title

consumer perception on retail outlets- A Comparative study.

Abstract

Retail industry in India is one of the most important emerging industry. Due to the vast population in India the basic needs and comforts of the people should be reached. Thus the retail industry has shown its impact in Indian markets. Total consumer expenditure will be reached around US$ 3,600 billion by 2020. India is fifth place in retail industry across the globe. The Indian population is experiencing major changes. In India from olden days there is a trend in larger families. But due to modern developments the larger families are being vanishing and increase in nuclear families are taken place with increase in women working population in urban areas. These are the factors that are key for the boom of retail industry in India. The evolution of retail industry take back its roots in the olden ages. In olden ages they are markets where the goods and services are exchanged between customers and producers. But the industry is small and that type of trend has continued till 20th century. But as the people has seen the huge profits that are available in retail industry they are increasing and huge amounts of investments are laid in the industry. The huge amounts laid the foundation of so many successful retail company giants like DMart, Big Bazar, More, Reliance fresh, Vishal mega mart and so on.
