Ageing is a process where over time an individual experiences a decline in performance, productivity and health. In our traditional society aging care is in the hand of family members and there are lot of people available to take care of elderly but now a days it is miserable due to break down of traditional joint family system into nuclear. The emergence of nuclear family has changed the pattern of life enormously. In today society the institution of family slowly – slowly fading almost to none. Rural elderly of Golaghat district faces many challenges in welfare for its elderly.
