Title

DESIGN OF OPEN LOOP HIGH GAIN STEP UP DC – DC CONVERTER

Abstract

In this paper, proposes a high gain step up dc – dc converter topology that operates at a smaller value of duty cycle to provide multilevel voltages in a dc microgrid; low and high. High voltage gain in traditional converters (like boost, switched inductor, cascaded boost, switched capacitor etc.,) are limited due to high ripple current, high conduction losses, high EMI and the low efficiency because of high duty cycle (closer to one).Though isolated conventional converters (push-pull, fly-back, forward, bridge etc.,) overcome the above disadvantages, they suffer from voltage spikes at the main switches (during turn on and off of switches because of inductance [(e=L(di/dt)] and leakage inductance power loss because of the inductance of transformer or coupled inductor that have been used with the converter to boost the voltage.
