Education is the most significant factor in human resources in development. Progress of a nation is depends on its quality of education system offered. Higher education occupies an important place in the education process of a country. Higher education is the main instrument for development and change of the nation. It has the important task of preparing leaders for different walks of life i.e social, intellectual, political, cultural, scientific, and technology etc. This being the brief background, the sole objective of the paper set is to present itself in lamenting into the state of affairs of education in India, aired in the recent past.
