Title

The Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence And Stress Management Of Engineering College Teachers.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Emotional Intelligence defined as, the subset of social intelligence that involves the ability to monitor one's own and others' feelings and emotions, to discriminate among them and to use this information to guide one's thinking and actions. Its components involves self awareness ,self control motivation, empathy and social skills. Stress management refers to the wide spectrum of techniques and psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person's levels of stress, especially chronic stress, usually for the purpose of improving everyday functioning. The present study focused on the relation between emotional intelligence as well as its five components and stress management of engineering college teachers. The descriptive research consist of a total of 100 teachers in different engineering colleges. The study also examined the variation of EI levels in gender, in age and in position and its role in stress management.
