Title

EFFECT OF REINFORCEMENT AND PROCESS ON FATIGUE AND FRACTURE OF AMCs-A REVIEW

Abstract

Aluminium metal matrix nano composites are very promising materials featuring for physical and mechanical properties very different from those of the metal matrix composites. This paper presents the effect of addition on different reinforcements in aluminium alloy to improve fatigue strength and fracture toughness and also discussed different methods of processing aluminium metal matrix composites highlighting their merits and demerits. The addition of reinforcement into metallic matrix composites improves the wear resistance, creep, fracture and fatigue properties compare to conventional engineering materials.
