Title

COMPARATIVE EMISSION STUDY BY REAL-TIME CONGESTION MONITORING FOR STABLE POLLUTION POLICY ON TEMPORAL AND MESO-SPATIAL REGIONS IN BHOPAL CITY

Abstract

In multiple mega cities including Bhopal, India, rapid industrialization, urbanization, and motorization lead to hiking air pollution. Studies conducted to evaluate pollution indicate that, along with many other similar sources, vehicle exhaust emissions contribute significantly to the quality of urban air. Therefore, in order to verify the increase of instant pollution, the government seeks to decrease the emission of vehicles. Traditional strategies sometimes work to maintain a sudden rise, but there are no long-term impacts that need meso-spatial and tiny temporal strategies. To optimize the execution of meso-spatial policies, many complexities related to moving and stationary sources must be monitored in near-real-time, including the combustion of vehicles themselves. It is complicated to analyze these moving source emissions at meso-spatial level. Therefore, the current research is an effort to first comprehend a need for meso-spatial and near-real-time control policies and then use past area-specific pollutant survey reports to map parameters for real-time pollution surveillance. To this end, a real-time car surveillance approach is being suggested to map congestion and emissions across the city using Google Maps crowd-source information. Real-time moving source pollutant parameter' μ' is calculated to use a factor ' F' for quantitative research of various meso-spatial areas. In addition, a comparative case study is used to present the distinct impact of congestion on vehicle emissions in two distinct meso-spatial fields of Bhopal. Analysis of case research disclosed that in the event of congestion variation, the Hamidia region is more susceptible to car emission variability. Further discussion of brief analysis of temporal and spatial emissions is provided in the article for weekly pollution assessment. This will help the authorities formulate strategies for technology, institutional and traffic leadership.
