Title

Antifungal and antimicrobial activity of some newly synthesized Quinoxaline derivatives.

Abstract

Heterocycles have a wide range of application in medicinal chemistry. compound contain quinoxalins nucleus have been reported for biological activity like, Antibacterial, Antifungal, Anticancer, antitumor, antiHIV, Hence it was planned to synthesis some novel Quinoxaline derivatives. Orthophenylene diamine was reacted with oxalic acid to form quinoxaling – 2,3 dione was chlorinated by using POCl3 in DMF to form 2,3 dichloro quinoxaline. This dichloro compound reacted with 4 – amino acetophenone gives 1-(4-(3- Chloroquinoxaline – 2 ylamino) ethanone all above compounds were synthesized in Micro oven at 100 watt. 1-(4-(3- Chloroquinoxaline – 2 ylamino) ethanone reacted with substituted aldehyde gives corresponding derivatives. All compound are characterized by IR and 1HNMR and further screened for biological activity like Antifungal and antimicrobial.

Key Words

Quinoxaline, Micro oven, POCl3, DMF.
