Title

Voltage Sag Extenuation and Grid Side Converter Control of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator

Abstract

At present days wind power energy is playing a significant performance a main role in power industry scenario. With the intensification in purpose of power (wind) diversity of modern topologies are forthcoming into picture. Together with the rare form of un-even speed set frequency topologies. In the DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator) realized WRIG (Wound Rotor Induction Generator) in which power is fed from both rotor and stator circuit. Rotor circuit is attached to a bi-directional DC/AC and AC/DC converter having a general DC-link bus. In rotor, power flow is bi-directional that is dependent on mode of track the power flow is furthermore since rotor-side to grid-side or it can be possibly be meanwhile grid-side to rotor. The rotor electorate converter as fine fed power (reactive power) to DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator) so as it is capable to run at a nearby to unity power factor (CosΦ). The grid potential converter is to withstand the DC-link potential un-varying, which ultimately fed an unchanging amplitude AC voltage to rotor-side for keep the flux un-varying. But the instant grid potential discrepancy occurs, the DC-link potential also differs; sooner or later input potential of the rotor differs. Consequently to sustain the reactive power necessitate of machine, it take power (reactive power) from grid. One outcome to this effort can be reimbursement of grid potential inequality before grid-converter circuit. Here by the assistance of DVR (Dynamic Voltage Restorer) compensation of potential sag is done. The contemporary topic deliberates concerning the purpose of DVR (Dynamic Voltage Restorer) instigated on DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator) to compensate potential sag of grid so that potential of DC-link will stay inflexible.
