Housing has always been an important agenda for the government of India over the years because it is a visible output where the development can be seen and a vital sector of the national economy creating jobs and generating taxes and wages that positively influence the quality of life. It experienced a vast growth from solely owned government undertaking to a competitive scenario with more than 90 housing finance institutions and other financial undertakings providing housing loans. The present paper put focus on the profitability and solvency performance of the selected housing finance companies based on their market share and net sales.
