Title

BRAIN TUMOUR DETECTION IN FREQUENCY DOMAIN USING MORPHOLOGICAL RECONSTRUCTION

Abstract

Processing the medical images such as Magnetic Resonance Images(MRI) and Computed Tomography(CT) are the two most emerging imaging technologies which are useful in identification of disease and also diagnosing a specific organ. In this paper we proposed an procedure for the detection of brain tumour from MRI images of brain using Image Processing techniques such as filtering in frequency domain, Thresholding, Morphological Reconstruction, Morphological operations and implemented these techniques on MRI images in MATLAB Image Processing toolbox. Image is converted into Frequency Domain and Ideal High pass filters are applied on the image and then opening-closing by reconstruction are applied on the image to detect the tumour present in the image and also finding the area of the tumour.
