Title

Food habits and death’rituals of gangadikara vokkaliga community of mysuru District.karanataka, India.

Abstract

Among Anthropologist,purity and danger is Douglas best known work.this research paper article purpose is discusses the gangadikara vokkaliga community of death rituals culture and food habbits of Mysore district in Karnataka and followed Hindu religious and believes , regarding death. Gangadkar vokkaliga community has inhabited more in southern Karnataka and accross in india. This community is death rituals followed by Hindu religious, rituals pollution will be eleven days, these days that family do not go to temple anddo not prepare food veg and non veg. Food are prepared by death family decent. Everyday at 9 pm starts the bajans at death family till 11 days. Body is burnt at own land. Social relationships are very strong in gangatkar vokkaliga community. After death their kindered relationship go to the astrologer regarding Hindu religious. The Linda leaves in Hindu rivers like cauvery , Krishna, Tunga, Bhadra, Kapil's, Bhima, sharavathiand also discuss the right to inheritance,and the rites highlight the genderbias in the society. every year ancestor worship the eldest son and younger son being principal performance methods of rites. Tools and traditional of anthropology are used to study of death rituals of vokkaliga community of Mysore district.
