The objective of the present study is to investigate the significance of Self esteem in producing Social Anxiety in adolescent students in the Kottayam Muncipality. Descriptive research design and cluster sampling design was used for this study. A sample of 180 adolescents was selected in which 60 from govt. school, 60 from aided private schools and 60 from CBSE schools in Kottayam municipality. The samples are studying plus two in these schools. Male and female adolescents are included in the study. Rosenberg self esteem scale and Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale are used for assessing the variables used for the study.The findings of the study are, the social anxiety and self-esteem among adolescents are negatively correlated.
