‘Changes’ became the characteristic mode that defined the nineteenth century and the period henceforth. Industrialization spurred the onset of phenomenal discoveries and changes, which set the world on a rapid rail of motion. Modernists’ infatuation with the theme of change manifests itself in their questioning of metaphysics and art, and their general tendencies to move away from the transcendental ideologies, which but had its significant influence upon them. Wallace Stevens and William Carlos Williams explore the dynamics of changes that were happening around them during the time. They were crucial regarding the society, people and how they underwent transformations as the result of technological innovations
