A plot experiment was carried to study the effects of varying level of nitrogen on growth and yield of spinach (Spinacia olearacea). Spinach is characterized by high nutritive values and has a high content of dietary fibre and vitamins as well as mineral components. Generally applying nitrogen from urea was the most effective compared to other sources of nitrogen on the growth and yield characters of spinach. The present study was under taken to elicit information on plant height, number of leaves, girth, yield of spinach.There were five treatment combinations consisting of five levels each of nitrogen (T1-40, T2-50, T3-60, T4-70 and T5 -80 kg/ha) were evaluated in Randomized Block Design (RCBD) and replicated four times. The results of the study indicated that addition of nitrogen from various levels significantly affected the number of leaves per plant, plant height, stem girth and yield of spinach.
