Protestant Christianity brought revolutionary changes in the life of the people of Travancore. These changes were reflected in their socio, economic, religious and political life. The European missionaries who introduced Protestant Christianity in Travancore and got astonishment sadness by seeing the evil customs prevailing in the society. They understood superstition, in addition to, was the root cause of these evils. So they wanted to open the eyes of the people by providing education and knowledge to them in all possible ways. Therefore the downtrodden society moved from a world of superstition and slavery to a bright and free world.
