Abstract: The present study intended to study the correlation between anxiety and mental well-being among prisoners. The 200 prisoners (100 convicted and 100 under trails) were taken as the sample. The Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-42) and the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS) was applied. This study basically tries to assess the level of anxiety among the prisoners and how their mental well-being affected. Through this study we can assess it and try to fix it and motivate them to become good citizen of the country. Purposive sampling method was used to collect the data from the Aligarh district Jail after collecting data both various socio-demographic parameters such as: age, gender education, occupation, religion, residence and marital status were included in it. All participants were assessed on Anxiety and mental well-being. The results shows that under trail prisoners are more chronic to anxiety as compared to convicted one.
