Abstract
The Grandmother's Tale by Shri R.K.Narayan is a story of a woman's grit and determination to achieve her goal. Set in the remote past of pre-independence era, the story reveals a mesmerizing and heart-touching struggle of a woman who wins back her husband by taking extreme step of defying social norms, leaving her home and going to remote West where she suspected her husband is staying. Thus this story is a saga of adventures of an uneducated lady who had enough guts to know her rights and duties and firm determination to get her rightful due.
