Abstract
Abstract: Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is an instant real-time payment system developed by National Payments Corporation of India facilitating inter-bank transactions. The interface is regulated by the Reserve Bank of India and works by instantly transferring funds between two bank accounts on a mobile platform. The UPI has been witnessing growth since its launch in August 2016. UPI has been widely adopted by various digital payment applications including Paytm, Flipkart’s PhonePe, Google Tez and WhatsApp. NPCI follows internationally acclaimed technologies, processes, and practices designed to protect networks, devices, applications, and data from attack, damage, or unauthorized access to enhance customer and stakeholders confidence.
