Abstract
This paper is an attempt to read George Lamming’s novel In the Castle of My Skin in the light of
postcolonial theory. Lamming in his novel explores the colonial experience and its effects on the social,
moral and cultural life of colonized people. This paper employs the key concepts of postcolonial theory such
as race, identity, third-space and hybridity to analyze the narrative of the novel.
