The pesticides contamination of aquatic environment could reduce the potential of such a system for fish production, an important source of proteins. The study was to assess the effect of cypermethrin sublethal concentration of (52.82 mg/kg) for 120 hours on various antioxidant enzymes was carried out in the freshwater fish Cyprinuscarpio. The activity of antioxidant enzymes, such asreduced glutathione(GSH) were increased was decreased. This observation clearly indicates the defensive nature and the adaptive mechanism of cells against free radical induced toxicity, pisoniaalbain plant extracts may afford protection from pesticide toxicity.
